A True Heart

by Mrs. S. A. Collins

A true heart is a casket,

      And contains a jewel rare;

'Tis one that ever sparkles,

      At all times, everywhere

The jewel is so precious,

      Yet never hid from view,

And each day seems to brighten it

      With the good that it can do.

We scan it closely and we read,

      In letters shining bright;

The name engraved thereon is this:

      Love--meaning honor, truth, and right.
